Joel watched the opening sequence where Linda Hamilton says some things about the war between Skynet and the human population, and how crazy all that was.

Joel watched as the camera swept over a post-apocalyptic landscape covered with human skulls, and then a cyborg’s foot crushed one of the human skulls.

There was the crunching sound of it exploding through the speakers on all sides of the room, all around Joel, and he jumped a little.

Joel’s dad and Uncle Herpe cheered, and Joel was amazed, sort of scared.

He couldn’t tell if they were happy that a human skull got crushed, or about how cool the sound of the skull crushed under a cyborg’s foot stepping through the speaker’s doorway and into their lives sounded.

Joel still wasn’t sure, sitting there in the snows of Antarctica, surrounded by the skeletons of his friends and family.
